Basic Configurations

Basic Configuration

Feeding out

Taking in slack

Lowering under load

Top Rope Rescue

Use this as the standard configuration for basic fall restraint.

By pressing in the cam on the top braking device you can feed out unweighted rope to your desired length.

By guiding the rope, you can pull on the free rope to take in any slack.

Holding the tail end of the rope, operate the lever to lower the technician.

Attach the pulley and ascender, threading the tail end of rope through the pulley.  Pull on the tail end of the rope to rescue the technician.

Rescue Configurations

Anchor 2

3:1

3:1 + 2:1

3:1 with re-direction

By putting an ascender with pulley onto the rope, you are creating a 3:1 Mechanical Advantage.

Adding an additional 2:1 to the tail end will create additional Mechanical Advantage.

Add a pulley to the tail of the 3:1 to re-direct the rope to a more suitable operating position.

6:1

With a 2:1 at the Technician, applying an additional 3:1 will create a 6:1 Mechanical Advantage.

Static Line Configurations

Static Line

Using the specialised braking devices at either end for anchor, allows the technician to create a static line.  Only qualified technicians should install a static line.

Static Line - Rescue via lowering

If rescue is required, the rescuer simply operates the lever  on the brake (whilst holding the tail) to lower the technician.

Static Line - Rescue via raising

By adding the ascender and pulley, the rescuer can raise the technician using a 3:1 system.

Anchoring Configurations

Anchor 3

Adjustable Anchor

Use the brake on both anchors to create an easily adjustable anchor system.

Self Equalising Anchor

Attaching to a free running karabiner between two anchors will create a self equalising anchor.  Use braking device on both anchors as shock absorbers and to create an adjustable anchor system
